| The leather cover is impressed: “THE GIFT OF PHILIP, LATE LORD WHARTON, DISTRIBUTED BY HIS LORDSHIP'S TRUSTEES, 1796.” The book measures approx. 6 1/2 x 4 x 2 3/4 inches thick. A few pages near the center have come loose but are present, otherwise the full leather binding is stable. There are some pencil scrawls such as might have been done by children, and a few words written in very old ink on the opening and closing pages. This is a very fine example of a Book of Common Prayer/Psalter/Bible of the late 18th century.

Subdean of Excester, London. George Bishop, 1601, FIRST EDITION, 547 pages, small quarto, loose in original vellum binding. Title is in ink on the spine. The pages have held together, but the back of the binding has come loose from the spine. This is a very rare book in a remarkably fine original state.
